That's right, one of the Waynes brothers is set for a comedy special this August. Marlon has made a deal with the streaming network to star in his very own comedy special. The news broke on Wednesday July 14, 2021.
Actor, writer, producer and comedian Marlon Wayans explores his greatest fears in his latest comedy special, Marlon Wayans: You Know What It Is premiering Thursday, August 19 on HBO Max.
Waynes is no stranger to the streaming networks. In 2018, he did a comedy special titled,
"Woke-ish". The question is...what is different about this comedy special?
The Answer: Wayans dives into his life-long fears. This ranges from the inconsequential, such as people with outie belly buttons, to the more significant, such as raising a daughter, dealing with a rebellious teenage son, and his greatest fear, the realization that his bad decisions are what tore his family apart. His journey towards self-awareness can be encapsulated in the simple phrase… “You know what it is.”
Marlon Wayans: You Know What It Is produced by Ugly Baby Productions and Dakota Pictures. Marlon Wayans, Rick Alvarez, Troy Miller, Michael Rotenberg, and Steve Harris serve as executive producers. This marks the first project to debut through Wayans overall deal with HBO Max.
